LIUNA Local 292

Our goal is to provide our contractors with the best skilled personnel for the job at hand. Quality, integrity and perseverance are infused into every task we perform. We strive to positively affect our contractor’s bottom line in terms of productivity and by making work safer, reducing accident rates, controlling workers’ compensation costs, and saving lives.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

As the Business Manager of Laborers’ Local 292, I want to make it very clear where we as a Union and as LIUNA stand regarding acts of bigotry and racism. LIUNA is an organization that was built on diversity, justice, honor, and strength. For over 100 years we have stood beside our brothers and sisters of all backgrounds to fight for all workers’ rights regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. LIUNA has fought for the unheard voices of all working men and women since 1903 and we have no intention of changing that now or in the future. We are one Union, one voice, one LIUNA!

Laborers Local 292 is aware of the recent acts of hatred and verbal racism on job sites in the area. I want to make things very clear; this is not who we are and LIUNA has zero tolerance for any and all forms of hate, racism or bigotry. Any members who choose to partake in any of these acts on the job-site that threatens or discriminates against another employee based on age, race, color, religion, sex or national origin needs to understand that there will be consequences and shall be subject to termination with potential no-rehire from that employer, per Master Labor Agreement. Laborers’ Local 292 will continue to stand in the fight against racism and hatred on and off the job site. If you or any member see these acts on the job sites, we encourage you to report this to your supervisor on the job and reach out to the agents or myself directly.

As a Union, we will continue to work with our industry partners to strengthen our efforts to build a culture that allows all people to work free of discrimination. We will continue to commit ourselves to fight for justice, honor and strength for all working men and women.
